You’re not alone, there’s no need to worry.
Our online neurodiversity pre-assessment sessions are designed to be calm, informal, and comfortable. Your child can join from the safety of home, where they’ll feel most at ease. We move at their pace, with breaks whenever needed.
Sessions are child-led and free from pressure — we don’t test, judge, or grade.
For teens and older children who feel uneasy with a parent present, we can arrange for parents to step away at any point. Comfort and honesty are key.
The Journey: From Booking to Final Report
Here’s what happens, step-by-step:
1. Easy Online Booking
Once payment is received, you’ll get access to a secure online booking link to choose a session time that works for you.
2. Consent & Initial Questions
You’ll receive a simple digital consent form confirming that both people with parental responsibility agree to the pre-assessment.
Then we’ll ask for some background info, including:
School experience
Developmental history
Any concerns or goals for the assessment
3. The Online Assessment Session
We’ll meet via secure video call for a soft, friendly conversation. It’s all about getting to know your child — who they are, how they see the world, and where they might need support.
Breaks are always welcome — and encouraged if your child needs space.
If appropriate, I’ll invite parents to speak privately during break times.
Sessions can be split over multiple appointments if needed. I always follow the child’s lead.
Children should join the session from a quiet, comfortable space where they feel safe and can express themselves freely.
4. Optional School Input
With your consent, I may reach out to your child’s school to gain additional insights. This helps build a clearer, more complete picture of their support needs across environments.
5. Report Writing & Review
After the session:
I’ll write a clear, detailed pre-assessment report (within 2–3 working days).
Parents receive a draft copy to review.
You can request any changes, and I’ll update the report until everyone is happy.
Once approved, the final report can be shared with your GP, school, or other professionals — but only with your full consent.
Your child’s report will never be shared without your permission.
What Kind of Questions Will Be Asked?
The conversation is gentle and based on real life — not tests or clinical checklists. We talk about:
What your child enjoys
Daily routines and challenges
Social experiences
Emotional wellbeing
There are no right or wrong answers, and we never judge academic performance.
We may explore emotions later in the session, or in ways that feel safer for your child.
Is It a Test?
No.
This is not a test — it’s a conversation. There’s no pressure, no grades, and no pass or fail.
The goal is to understand your child better, spot areas where they may need help, and highlight their unique strengths.
Final Report: Sharing & Next Steps
Once the report is finalised and you’re happy with it, it can be used to:
Support further diagnostic assessment
Inform EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) applications
Guide schools or SEN teams
Provide helpful insights to therapists, GPs, or other professionals
