NeuroProfile Assessment: What to Expect

Specialist online assessments for children, teens, and adults - helping you understand strengths, challenges, and next steps with confidence.

Welcome

I’m so glad you’ve found your way here, and thank you for reaching out to explore support for your child. At Neurodiversity Support, we know how worrying it can be when your child feels anxious, frustrated, or is struggling at school. It can be overwhelming trying to understand what’s really going on and that’s exactly where we can help.

My calm, person-centred approach ensures every child and parent feels heard, supported, and understood.

What Is a NeuroProfile  Assessment?

A NeuroProfile Assessment provides a clear, evidence-based understanding of how a person learns, feels, and experiences the world,  helping families, schools, and adults put the right support in place early, without waiting for a full clinical diagnosis.

The NeuroProfile explores both strengths and unmet needs across areas such as:

  • Attention, focus, and executive functioning

  • Emotional regulation and anxiety

  • Sensory processing and learning differences

  • Social communication and interaction

  • Environmental, background, and workplace factors

For children and teens, the NeuroProfile helps identify why a child may struggle to cope at home even when they appear fine in school. Many neurodiverse children mask their difficulties throughout the school day, leading to meltdowns, shutdowns, or emotional exhaustion once home. Understanding this pattern helps families and schools respond with empathy and appropriate support, ensuring the right adjustments are made and the child’s true needs are recognised in EHCP applications or school support plans.

For adults, the NeuroProfile offers insight into how neurodiversity, anxiety, and sensory differences affect daily life, relationships, and work performance. The resulting report includes personalised recommendations and workplace adjustments that can be shared with employers, helping to create more supportive and accessible environments.

Each assessment includes a clear, practical report with recommendations for:

  • School-based and workplace adjustments

  • Emotional and environmental support strategies

  • Evidence for EHCPs, RTC, GP's, ATW, access arrangements, or occupational health

The NeuroProfile Assessment gives you the clarity, confidence, and actionable understanding needed to create meaningful change, at home, at school, or at work.

Common Questions

1. What is a NeuroProfile Assessment?

A NeuroProfile Assessment is a detailed, conversation-based session designed to explore potential signs of ADHD, Autism (ASC), and other neurodevelopmental differences,  in both children and adults.

It’s ideal for families, individuals, and professionals who want to gain a deeper understanding of strengths, challenges, and support needs, without necessarily pursuing a medical or clinical diagnosis.

You’ll receive a professional written report with clear insights and tailored recommendations that can be used to:

  • Guide school or workplace support and reasonable adjustments

  • Inform coaching or therapeutic goals

  • Provide evidence for EHCP applications or other formal support processes

The NeuroProfile helps uncover how neurodiversity, anxiety, sensory processing, and emotional factors interact in daily life,  offering the clarity and confidence needed to move forward with the right support.

2. Who is the NeuroProfile Assessment suitable for?

Our NeuroProfile Assessments are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults who may be showing traits linked to ADHD, Autism (ASC), Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing differences, or emotional regulation challenges.

For families, it’s an empowering option when a child is struggling at school or home, particularly if they are facing long NHS waiting times or wish to understand needs without a formal diagnosis. The NeuroProfile Assessment offers clear, practical insights to support learning, wellbeing, and evidence for EHCP applications.

For adults, the assessment provides valuable understanding of how neurodiversity, anxiety, and sensory needs affect daily life and performance, with personalised recommendations for workplace adjustments, coaching, and emotional wellbeing.

By focusing on strengths, challenges, and individual needs, the NeuroProfile Assessment helps create the right support at home, in school, and at work, offering clarity, confidence, and a practical plan for positive change.

3. Can I use the NeuroProfile Assessment if I don’t want a diagnosis?

Absolutely. Many parents come to us because they want support for their child without pursuing a formal diagnosis.
Our NeuroProfile Assessment focuses on understanding behaviour, learning needs, and emotional well-being.

The report provides professional evidence that can be shared with schools, SENCOs, GPs, or local authorities to help secure the right support and adjustments, even without a medical diagnosis.

4. Can the report be used for school support or an EHCP application?

Yes. The NeuroProfile Assessment Report is written in a professional format suitable for educational and legal use.
It can be shared with schools, SENCOs, Educational Psychologists, or Local Authority SEND teams as part of EHCP evidence or requests for reasonable adjustments.

It’s a powerful way to get the right help in place for your child, even if you’re not ready, or don’t wish, to pursue a clinical diagnosis.

5. How long does the assessment take?

Each NeuroProfile Assessment lasts around 2.5 hours and takes place online in a relaxed, friendly environment. For children and teenagers, the session includes light, engaging activities and conversation with the adults who know them best, helping to build a complete picture of their strengths, challenges, and support needs.

As part of the process, we review any previous reports, school documents, or professional input to ensure nothing is missed. When needed, we may also liaise with teachers, therapists, or employers to gather additional insight.

Following the session, you’ll receive a comprehensive, in-depth written report detailing key findings, recommendations, and strategies tailored to home, school, or workplace settings.

This holistic approach ensures a clear understanding of how neurodiversity, emotion, and environment interact, giving you meaningful guidance and evidence to support EHCP applications, workplace adjustments, or next steps in your journey.

6. Is the assessment held online or in person?

Most assessments are held online via a secure video link. This allows your child to join from the comfort of their own home, where they feel most relaxed and open. Online assessments are equally effective and particularly beneficial for anxious or sensory-sensitive children.

7. What’s included in the report?

You’ll receive a comprehensive written report detailing observations around:

  • ADHD and attention profiles

  • Autism and social communication

  • Learning differences (e.g., dyslexia, dyspraxia)

  • Sensory processing

  • Emotional regulation and executive function

The report also includes practical recommendations for home and school, and guidance for EHCP applications, GP referrals, or coaching.

8. How much does the Pre-Screen Assessment cost?

The Pre-Assessment service costs £550 (no VAT).
Flexible payment options are available through Klarna, allowing you to spread the cost in a way that suits your family.

9. Is this a formal diagnosis?

No, the NeuroProfile Assessment is not a clinical diagnosis.
Instead, it offers professional, evidence-based insight into how you or your child think, learn, and process emotions. The assessment helps identify strengths, challenges, and support needs, providing clear recommendations for school adjustments, workplace accommodations, or EHCP applications.

For families or adults who later wish to pursue a formal diagnosis, we can provide a referral to a trusted ADHD specialist, paediatrician, or autism diagnostic service.

The NeuroProfile bridges the gap between lived experience and clinical pathways, giving you the clarity, understanding, and evidence needed to access the right support sooner.

10. Do you offer follow-up support after the assessment?

Yes, I offer ADHD and neurodiversity coaching for children, parents, and families.
Coaching sessions help you put your NeuroProfile Assessment recommendations into action, building confidence, improving communication, and supporting emotional wellbeing at home, school, or work.

This practical, strengths-based approach helps families understand how to manage attention, organisation, sensory needs, and emotional regulation, creating positive, sustainable change in everyday life.
